Investment facilitation and promotion has been amajor strategy adopted in the cities in both theYangtze and\nPearlRiverDelta in China for economic growth during the past two decades aswell as amajor driving force of economic\ndevelopment in the two delta regions. Other than“preferential”investment policy, clear, comprehensive information provision for investors is mi portant for attracting investments and essential for success given the keen competition among these cities. Geographic Information System (GIS) provides an effective platform for the construction and visualdisplay of expermi ental economic indicators of an investment environment. This paper attempts to provide a brief report on“The Globalized Delta Economies in China: Visualized Economic Indicators for InvestmentEnvironment”and to discuss how GIS can furtherbe betterutilized for investmentpromotion.
